Richard was preceded in death by his parents his sisters, Pansy Doreck and Gay Hahn and his brothers, Erwin C. Richard was a proud serving member of Runge’s St. He then retired from the oil industry and continued to work on the farm where he proudly established his own pecan orchard. In 1992, after being diagnosed with a heart condition, he received a heart transplant in Salt Lake City, Utah. ![]() Together with his brother, Jerry, they established Gisler Brothers Logging, Inc. Later, he worked as an oil field mud logger and farmer/rancher. He joined the Marine Corps and served honorably for three years as an aircraft electrician. Richard married Alfreda Pargmann, of Runge, on June 27, 1956. He was born in Kenedy, Texas on July 10, 1936, the second child of Bertha “Bert” Bingham Gisler and Erwin L. Richard Oscar Gisler, Sr., 77, died Monday, August 26, 2013, in his home in Runge, Texas.
